After last years fantastic, amazing effort by the people of Stockport I will be organising another Rucksack Project event. If you wish to get involved then its simple……
I’m looking for as many friends as possible to go to charity shops or rummage through their wardrobes, get a rucksack, sleeping bag, gloves, hat, fleece, undies, socks and extra food so that these rucksack packs can be distributed to homeless people & rough sleepers in Stockport.
The address for drop off on the 13th December is:
The Wellspring, Harvey Street, Stockport. SK1 1YD 9am to 4pm
If you wish to donate a rucksack pack then this is what i hope they can contain:
1 x Rucksack
1 x Fleece / Jumper
1 x Hat / Scarf / Gloves
2 x Socks
2 x Undies
1 x Toothbrush
1 x Sleeping bag
1 x Flask
Tins of beans / Soup etc (with ring pulls)
1 x Spoon
Crossword puzzles / word searches / pens
Donate to the Campaign page here : http://campaign.justgiving.com/charity/thewellspring/rucksackprojectstockport
To Donate £5 via Text message please text WRSP15£5 to 70070 messages cost £5 plus your standard rate.
Ideally a completed rucksack can be donated but I do understand that it is not always affordable to provide a full pack so, If you wish to donate any of the items listed above then please feel free to message me and i will come and collect, no distance too far no item too small. I will then make up packs from the items we receive.
PLEASE NOTE: It is not just men that are homeless and in need of our help so If you wish to provide a ‘ladies pack’ then all I ask is that you pin a note clearly stating ‘LADIES’ so that we can distinguish and give out accordingly.
Please share my status’s re: The Rucksack Project to all of your friends and please ask that they do the same. Lets utilise social media to its maximum, there are people out their who want to help, who can help.
All we have to do is bring our project to the attention of the masses and hopefully provide as many people as we can a means to get through this winter and beyond.
LETS MAKE A DIFFERENCE xxx
